BCI - Bail Enforcement Firearms Instructors

All licensees wanting to carry a firearm in the performance of his or her duties shall complete an initial 16-hour firearms course and pass a shooting test.  Upon each renewal or upgrade in licensure, complete an 8-hour firearms course and pass a shooting test.

The instructors listed below are qualified and have expressed interest in teaching the bail firearms courses. Only those instructors listed below are approved to teach the bail firearms courses.

The criteria to become an instructor are as follows:

  • Certified Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor in good standing with the Bureau
  • National Rifle Association (NRA) certified instructor or Utah POST certified Firearms Instructor
  • Displayed an interest to the Bureau in becoming a certified Bail Enforcement Firearms Instructor
