LAW CHANGES 2012:

COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE (CDL) HOLDERS -

Beginning January 30, 2012, CDL holders will be required to submit a valid DOT medical card and medical certification for original, renewal, upgrade, duplicate, and state to state transfer license applications.  Click here for more information.

 

LAW CHANGES 2011 :

DRIVING PRIVILEGE CARD (DPC) HOLDERS -

Beginning July 1, 2011, all Driving Privilege Card (DPC) holders are required to submit a completed fingerprint card and photograph in a sealed envelope to the Driver License Division upon renewal, duplicate, or original application.  To learn more, click here.


ALCOHOL AND DRUG RELATED SUSPENSION FOR DRIVERS UNDER AGE 21 -

Effective July 1, 2011 the suspension periods for drivers under the age of 21 will change.  Click here to read more information.

DRIVER LICENSE AND ID CARD AMENDMENTS FOR REFUGEE AND APPROVED ASYLEE -

Effective July 1, 2011 an applicant who provides acceptable proof of their status as a refugee or an approved ayslee for an original Utah limited-term driver license will have the option of taking the Utah knowledge test in their native language with the assistance of an interpreter.  Click here for more information.

Effective July 1, 2011 an applicant whose legal/lawful status is "Conditional Permanent Resident Alien" is only eligible for a limited-term certificate.

VETERAN'S IDENTIFICATION OF DRIVER LICENSE OR ID CARD -

Effective July 1, 2011 an applicant who is 21 years or older applying for a Utah driver license or any applicant who is applying for a Utah ID card has the option of adding a VETERAN indicator to their certificate upon providing acceptable proof of honorable discharge from the U.S. Military.  (DD214 or for WWII Veterans, a Record/Notice of Separation is required.) DRIVER LICENSING OFFICES:

We have 26 Licensing Offices, visit one for service in your area.  Application must be completed at the office where you began unless prior arrangements have been made.
