Emergency Management - ICS-400 Incident Command System Advanced
DESCRIPTION: This course provides training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. This course expands upon information covered in ICS-100 through ICS-300 courses. These earlier courses are prerequisites for ICS-400.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Senior personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area Command or Multiagency Coordination Entity, expected to perform in a management capacity in an area command complex incident environment.Required:
IS-100 (Introduction to Incident Command System)
IS-200 (ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents)
IS-700 (National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction)
IS-800.B (National Response Framework, An Introduction).

Also, ICS-300 (Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents) a two day classroom course.
Recommended: Command or General Staff experience.
ICS-400 is a one day and a half classroom course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Explain how major incidents engender special management challenges;
- Describe the circumstances in which an Area Command is established;
- Describe the circumstances in which multiagency coordination systems are established.
