PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) - Continuity of Operations Plan Development
This one and a half day workshop provides participants a venue for discussing and evaluating all hazards scenarios and circumstances that impact continuity of operations. Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) staff provide real-world examples of plans for different Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) scenarios. In addition, they share best practices from around the Nation that can help participants identify and mitigate the risk to Public Safety Communication Centers continuity of operations. The workshop includes breakout sessions in which participants define specific challenges to continuity of their centers’ operations and then brainstorm approaches to meeting them. The workshop helps participants develop the outline for a COOP in an OEC template and annexes that document the operating environment, the potential challenges to operations, and specific planning for various relocation or evacuation scenarios.
