Emergency Management - Utah Risk MAP Program

Risk MAP Program Page

The vision of Utah's Risk MAP Program is through collaboration with State, Tribal, and local entities, Risk MAP delivers quality data that increases public awareness and leads to action that reduces risk to life and property. Through Risk MAP, FEMA provides information to enhance local mitigation plans, improve community risk awareness outreach, and increase local resilience to flooding. Risk MAP builds on flood hazard data and maps produced during the Flood Map Modernization (Map Mod) program. Building on the success of Map Mod, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will collaborate with federal, state, and local stakeholders to achieve the five goals of the Risk MAP program:

  • Address gaps in flood hazard data
  • Public awareness/outreach
  • Hazard mitigation planning
  • Enhanced digital platform
  • Alignment and synergies
