SUBJECT: Utah Fire Service Standards & Training Council Meeting
A Utah Fire Service Standards and Training Council meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 10 A.M. at the Utah Fire & Rescue Academy, Room 147, 3131 Mike Jense Parkway, Provo, Utah.
Directions to the Fire Academy:
Take the West Provo Center Street Exit on I-15 and proceed approximately two miles west on Center Street toward Utah Lake State Park. Make a left turn on 3110 West at the street that takes you to the Provo Airport. Watch the signs. You will see two signs telling you to turn left. One is for the Provo Airport and the other is for the Utah Fire & Rescue Academy. Proceed south on the airport road until you near the entrance of the Provo Airport. As you approach the airport you will reach a bend in the road that turns the road direction from south to southwest. The Utah Fire & Rescue Academy is just south of that bend in the road and is a grey cinder block building.
The agenda for the Council Meeting will be as follows:
- Meeting called to order by Council Chairman Jim Guynn.
- Review of Minutes of the April 22, 2008 meeting.
- Election of a new Chair and Vice Chair.
- Presentation of the Non-Affiliated Firefighter Training Program binders by Jolene Nuttall, Assistant Director, Utah Fire & Rescue Academy.
- Presentation to the Council by Brent Halladay, Chief Deputy, of the concerns expressed at the last Fire Prevention Board meeting with regard to the Utah Fire & Rescue Academy and the performance and financial audit.
