Major Traffic Occurs in Davis County
Tuesday July 28, 2008, approximately 3:30 P.M. an over size tank transported through Davis County over turned on I-15 northbound in North Salt Lake. The tank weighed 206,000 pounds and was 210 feet long and transported by two semis (one pushing one pulling). The accident closed four of the five northbound lanes just as rush hour was beginning. The incident was unable to be cleared until 11:30 P.M. Motorists experienced massive congestion delays.
July 22, 2008. Utah Highway Patrol personnel conducted a traffic stop in Salt Lake County. During the course of the traffic stop and with assistance of a K-9 (police dog) the vehicle was searched. The search yielded approximately 80 lbs. of marijuana.
