Announcing the 8th Annual Utah Governor's Public Safety Summit - May 5 & 6, 2015 - Davis Conference Center, Layton, Utah
All Law Enforcement and those in related fields are invited to attend this two-day event of outstanding presentations and workshops highlighting the need for all to work, plan and train together.  The conference provides a good networking opportunity to meet others in your field and to learn new strategies for being prepared for future events. Police & Dog Encounters Training

This Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) training consists of five videos introducing law enforcement officers to strategies that may be utilized to deescalate encounters with dogs. After the training, officers should have more information regarding options that are available to them to help protect themselves, citizens and dogs. Free Law Enforcement Training

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), is offering 8 free online courses for the topics of Juvenile Interview and Interrogation Techniques and School Safety.

Tuition-Free Online Training For Sworn Officers

National Prevention Toolkit on Officer-Involved Domestic Violence training is now available. The Toolkit is part of a broad-based effort to prevent violence in the homes of criminal justice families and to support healthy families, agencies, and communities. For more information click here.


Stress Management/Healthy Lifestyles Presentation Materials Available to Public Safety Personnel

The goal of this course is for officers to develop skills to identify the stress involved in the law enforcement profession, both on and off duty. Officers should learn practical skills to cope with stress and to avoid stress. The course is designed to give officers life skills that will assist them in having a positive and healthy lifestyle during their law enforcement career.

The training materials are available to all Public Safety personnel (Fire/EMS/Dispatch & Law Enforcement). The materials are available to be downloaded or a cd can be mailed to the agency.  If interested, please send an email to: support@utahpost.org and specify your delivery preference.

In a joint endeavor, the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial and the Utah Peace Officer Association are raising the necessary funds to have session photo's once again placed on display at POST. For more information click here.
