2017 Easter Weekend Numbers
As expected, Utah roads were busy during Easter weekend. In preparation, the Utah Highway Patrol deployed 43 additional Troopers each day. Troopers focused on impaired driving, seat belt enforcement and speed.
From Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16, the totals are as follows:
Vehicle Stops: 4,087
Speed contacts: 2,710
Occupant Restraint Contacts: 679
DUI: 50
Other Alcohol: 30
Crashes Handled: 108
Fatal: 1
